I am so proud of Lainey! Today was a huge day in her hearing and advocacy journey! Today was the first time Lainey (all by herself!) showed off her ears to someone, without them asking! 🥺👏🏻👏🏻🥳
We were at the doctor’s, and within a minute of arriving, Lainey announced to the nurse, “Lainey has special ears”. Then proceeded to slowly turn her head side to side to show the nurse each ear. My heart practically jumped out of my chest! 🥰🥰🥰
This is something I do often. I am very open about showing people Lainey and Millie’s ears. I believe the more we talk about them and show them, the more confident my girls will be. At parks, coffee shops, play dates, you name it, I love getting the opportunity to show and educate others about the girls’ ears! For Lainey to initiate the opportunity all herself was such an amazing moment! I am so proud!!
Now she also proceeded to tell the nurse many others things like, “Lainey has new shoes”, “Lainey going to school”, and “Mackie threw up”. 😂 But nonetheless, Lainey wanted to show off her special pink ears. Amazing!
I know this is only the beginning for her. I can’t wait to see how Lainey continues to tell people about her special ears and how she continues to advocates for herself. I pray that as she grows, she remains confident in who she is.
Lainey girl, you continue to astound me. Keep shining bright. Keep being you. Keep that amazing confidence!! I love you more than I could ever describe! 🥰🤟🏻💗
